What We’ve Accomplished:
(Physical) Nutritional assistance distributed in Ukraine
We are excited to report that Baylor Scott & White Faith in Action Initiatives funded the shipment of 96 pallets of nutritional assistance to Ukraine. This assistance began distribution in Ukraine on January 3, 2023 and will help Ukrainians make it through the tough winter ahead. This shipment was delivered by AEC Parcel Service. Over 1 million servings of meal replacements were distributed in Ukraine.
(Physical) Kyiv Regional Hospital receives surgical tools to treat cancer patients
On December 29, 2022 surgical tools were delivered to the Kyiv Regional Hospital, which specializes in oncology. The team at Kyiv Regional Hospital is grateful for the receipt of surgical tools through the generosity of our donors and grant funding from UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief.
(Spiritual) Gifts purchased and delivered to 31 pediatric patients at the Heart Institute in Kyiv
On December 28, 2022 the Heart Institute in Kyiv received 31 gifts from our generous donors for their pediatric patients. To better support the Ukrainian economy, we purchased these gifts from the toy store Antoshka and had the toys delivered. We are grateful for our donors bringing joy to the littlest Ukrainians this holiday season!
(Spiritual) 100 Christmastime gifts were purchased and delivered to the Children’s Center for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery
On December 27, 2022 the generosity of our donors provided gifts to 100 children and babies to lift their spirits and help them heal quickly! A Ukrainian boy says “thank you!”
(Physical) Chernihiv Regional Hospital receives two new forehead lamps for surgical lighting
Lighting is critical to continuing surgeries when electricity is cut. Chernihiv Regional Hospital requested and received on December 27, 2022 two new forehead lamps so that they could continue to save lives even when electrical outages occur. This purchase helped the Ukrainian economy, as a medical supply company in Ukraine supplied the equipment and delivered it to the hospital. This purchase and delivery was made possible through the generosity of our donors and grant funding from the United Methodist Committee on Relief.
(Physical) Two sub-zero freezers were purchased and delivered to the Heart Institute in Kyiv
On December 23, 2022 we received wonderful Christmastime news from the Heart Institute Інститут серця МОЗ України that 2 subzero freezers were delivered to their blood bank! This will help keep both cardiac patients and individuals wounded in war alive. The Arlene Campbell Humanitarian Foundation is grateful to our donors and grant funding from the UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief that made this purchase and delivery possible!
(Physical) Double domed lamps for surgical use were purchased and delivered to Chernihiv Regional Hospital
On December 21, 2022, Double domed lamps for surgical use with LED lighting were purchased and delivered to the Chernihiv Regional Hospital. The hospital is very grateful to the Arlene Campbell Humanitarian Foundation and our receipt of grant funding from the United Methodist Committee on Relief. Now the lighting situation for the Chernihiv Regional Hospital is much improved from the previous operating room conditions. The Chernihiv Regional Hospital is the 13th health facility we have aided in 2022.
(Physical) A negative wound pressure machine was purchased and delivered
On December 15, 2022, a Vacuum system for Negative- pressure wound therapy (NPWT) – NP-100 and its associated components was delivered to the Children’s Center for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery. This purchase and delivery was made possible through the generosity of our donors, and grant funding from UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief. During a time of war, this machine is critical in saving lives.
(Physical) Two new surgical tables for the Odesa Maternity Hospital #1 purchased and delivered
On December 9, 2022, two new beds were delivered to the Odesa Maternity hospital #1. Now that these beds have arrived, pregnant women can be wheeled in the beds to a safer location in the event of an air raid alarm. In their outpatient clinic, this maternity hospital sees 230,739 women annually. This purchase and delivery was made possible through the generosity of our donors, and grant funding from UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief.
(Physical) A thermo-container for the transportation of organs for transplantation was delivered to the Children’s Center for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery
On November 25, 2022 a thermo-container for the transportation of organs was recently purchased and delivered to the Center for Children’s Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Центр дитячої кардіології і кардіохірургії thanks to the generosity of our donors and grant funding from the UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief.
