What We’ve Accomplished:
(Physical) Heart transplantation medication delivered to the Children’s Center for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery
On November 24, 2022, The Arlene Campbell Humanitarian Foundation is happy to report that thanks to your generous donations and grant funding from the UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief, a pharmaceutical drug supply Sixdax was purchased. Sixdax is a medication which is required for heart transplant surgeries. This medication was purchased in Ukraine so as to support the local Ukrainian economy. The supply of Sixdax was delivered to the Ukrainian Children’s Center for Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery Центр дитячої кардіології і кардіохірургії. We are grateful to be able to help support the littlest Ukrainians receive heart transplants. This iconic, now viral photo was taken of the surgeons at this hospital operating even as Kyiv went without electricity.
(Physical) Winter boots and slippers delivered to a home for the elderly in Chernivtsi, Ukraine
On October 28, 2022, through the generous donors of the Arlene Campbell Humanitarian Foundation and grant funding from the UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief, 90 pairs of women’s boots and 80 pairs of men’s boots were donated to a home for the elderly in Chernivtsi Чернівецький Пансіонат. Now the elderly residents will have their feet protected this winter. The company that we purchased from, Credo, was so happy to help that they gave slippers to the residents for free with the purchase of the winter boots.
(Physical) The 7th delivery to the Heart Institute in 2022
October 17, 2022: For the second Monday in a row, Kyiv has been bombarded with Russian attack drones. However, we are pleased to report that our seventh shipment of medical supplies has been delivered to the State Institution Ukrainian Health Ministry Heart Institute Інститут серця МОЗ України even in the midst of this crisis. This shipment brings the total of medical supplies and tools purchased and shipped with the assistance of an UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief grant to 128,235 lbs. worth an estimated $2.8 million. This shipment contained endoscopic equipment, surgical tools and personal protection equipment. It weighed 21,700 pounds and is valued at $1,075,082.46. Thank you to our generous donors, OhioHealth for donating these supplies and AEC Parcel Service for delivering them!
(Physical) Cardiovascular supplies arrived at the Center for Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery
On Friday, September 2, 2022 Dr. Andrii Maxymenko received a box of cardiology specific supplies for the Children's Center for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Центр дитячої кардіології і кардіохірургії from the Seattle Children's Foundation sent by the generous donors of the Arlene Campbell Humanitarian Foundation from the generous donors of UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief. The UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief provided grant funding for this shipment to be sent. We are so grateful to help support the children of Ukraine receive quality healthcare.
(Physical) Infectious Disease Hospital: 9th hospital of 2022 reached
On August 19, 2022: The Arlene Campbell Humanitarian Foundation is pleased to report that the NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF PHTHISIOLOGY AND PULMONOLOGY in Kyiv is the 9th hospital in Ukraine reached this year with medical supplies. This hospital specializes in lung diseases such as tuberculosis. Thank you to our generous donors and to grant funding from the generous donors of UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief that allowed these supplies to be delivered.
(Physical) Sixth Shipment of 2022 Arrived at the Heart Center of Kyiv
Wednesday, August 31, 2022: We are thankful for our generous supporters and the generosity of the UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief's donors that allowed us to report our 6th shipment of 2022 of medical supplies and equipment to the State Institution Ukrainian Health Ministry Heart Institute Інститут серця МОЗ України. This shipment of medical supplies and equipment was donated by Baylor Scott & White's Faith in Action Initiatives and was transported by AEC Parcel Service. This shipment weighed 11,450 pounds and is valued over $216k for approximate customs purposes.
(Physical) Second delivery of surgical tools
On Friday, August 12, 2022, the second set of surgical tools was delivered to the the State Institution Ukrainian Health Ministry Heart Institute Інститут серця МОЗ України. These surgical tools will assist with general surgery and cardiovascular surgery. This delivery was made possible through the generous donors of the Arlene Campbell Humanitarian Foundation (ACHF) and a grant from the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).
(Physical) Kyiv City Clinical Hospital is the 8th hospital reached in 2022
The Kyiv City Clinical Hospital #15 received 52 boxes of gloves. This delivery was coordinated by Dr. Vitaly Demyanchuk of the State Institution Ukrainian Health Ministry Heart Institute. Funding for this delivery was provided by the generous donors of ACHF, the Arlene Campbell Humanitarian Foundation and UMCOR, the United Methodist Committee on Relief.
(Physical) Surgical Tools Delivered to the Heart Institute in Ukraine
On Monday, July 18, 2022, surgical tools were delivered to the State Institution Ukrainian Health Ministry Heart Institute July 18, 2022 due to the generous donors of the Arlene Campbell Humanitarian Foundation and the generous donors of the United Methodist Committee on Relief.
(Physical) Hospital in Odesa region 7th hospital to be given supplies
On Tuesday, July 12, 2022, Dr. Vitaly Demyanchuk of the Heart Institute Інститут серця МОЗ України distributed supplies sent through the generosity of Arlene Campbell Humanitarian Foundation’s donors and the generous donors of the UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief to a hospital in the Odesa region. These medical workers drove from the Odesa area to pick up supplies in Kyiv: isolation gowns, N-95 masks and gloves. Many thanks to Ohio Health for donating these items and AEC Parcel Service for transportation from the U.S.A to Ukraine. #славаукраїні #StrongerTogether
