Soldiers Traumatized By Collecting Bodies of Fallen Colleagues

Natalliia, a Professor of Psychology specializing in trauma care at Shevchenko University, reported a story about a soldier on the frontline. The solider had to collect the bodies of his colleagues after they were killed in combat. This duty made him feel repulsed at the idea of eating meat, so a psychologist was consulted. On the frontline there is canned meat, not fresh fruit or vegetables. The man therefore needed to eat meat to retain his sustenance. Children’s food was ordered for him. He was stabilized and given powdered milk to drink that is often given to children. The soldier mixed the dry milk with water and drank it as he was instructed. He was able to regain his strength to continue on.
