(Physical) Heart Institute Receives Sensors

We are pleased to report that on May 26, 2023, the Heart Institute of Kyiv, Інститут серця МОЗ України, has received sensors that are required during surgery. The Deputy Director of the Heart Institute, Dr. Demyanchuk, has said these sensors provides for patient safety during cardiopulmonary bypass. The sensors help prevent prevents the air embolism that can occur during open heart surgery. On the left is a photo of the perfusion team at the Heart Institute accepting the items, and below is an image of the sensors already in action during an open heart surgery. We are grateful for our generous donors and grant funding from UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief, that allows for this purchase of $8,570.00 USD in aid for the patients of Kyiv, Ukraine during wartime.
